Renault New Zealand has launched a new online Virtual Showroom where customers can be guided around Renault models – including EVs – using video call technology.
As potential customers cannot physically visit a dealership in COVID-19 alert level three, this online service means they can still browse and receive advice on models when it suits them – even getting advice about how to charge a Renault Zoe EV, the company says.
enables potential customers to get up close and personal with our vehicles whilst they are stuck at home,” Renault New Zealand general manager Sam Waller says.
When visiting the Renault website, customers can book an appointment to view a particular model in a live virtual tour with the help of a Renault specialist who is able to introduce a static vehicle and hold a detailed walkaround of their chosen vehicle.
“Sometimes pictures just don’t justice, so by using video call technology our specialists are able to show the customer the model in detail, and answer any questions then and there, just like being shown around a new car in a physical showroom,” Waller says.
Each car’s features can be fully explained.
Renault also has a range of award-winning commercial vans, such as the Trafic, on display.
Specialists will have a range of real-life props on hand, such as golf clubs, a car seat, a pram, and general luggage to show how much can fit.
Following the comprehensive tour, customers can book a contactless test drive or receive a brochure to continue researching their new vehicle.
The Virtual Showroom offers all that a ‘bricks and mortar’ showroom does, including the ability for a
Renault finance team member to follow up and discuss trade-ins, finance and leasing options.
The Renault Virtual Showroom is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
Customers can select the model they are interested in, pick a date and book a 30-minute time slot that suits them.
An email confirmation with the virtual appointment link is sent for customers to join the call at their selected time.
The Virtual Showroom has been adapted with stringent measures and processes beyond the official requirements of staying safe with regards to hygiene, personal protection and social distancing, Renault NZ says.
