Save the date – inaugural EVtalk conference

The first EVtalk conference – EVs and beyond – will be held next March 16 and 17 at the Waiheke Island Resort.

The conference will feature international and national speakers on a wide range of EV related topics.

It will also look beyond EVs and discuss progress towards electrification of individual homes and whole communities.

Starting with the place of EVs today and in the next decade, it will discuss how acceptance of EVs can be accelerated and the market for both new and used EVs.

There will be a panel discussion on developments in the world of hydrogen – asking the question whether hydrogen is a sideshow or main event.

The major discussion on the first day will include five speakers’ views on EVs – More than just Cars.

The speakers will cover:

•  Micro mobility, e-bikes, scooters and off-roaders
•  Electric utes – but when?
•  Trucks, buses and heavy equipment
•  Airplanes – passenger aircraft and vertical take-off ‘taxis’
•  Ferries – developing an electric passenger fleet for the Hauraki Gulf

A panel discussion on enabling other forms of mobility – ride sharing, car sharing and automated transport – rounds off the first day.

Developments on EV charging in New Zealand start the second day of the conference, followed by Batteries – where to now?

A look into the future combining EVs and developments in electric power in homes and communities leads into a panel discussion on alternative forms of energy – and advances in hydro, geothermal, solar and wind generated energy.

Clean energy in your own home moves into a plan for rolling out green energy solutions in communities and cities.
