Sprinter celebrates 25 years from e-commerce to EV
Mercedes-Benz is celebrating 25 years of the Sprinter and the major role it has played in commercial applications around the world.
When it first launched in 1995, e-commerce was on the rise and the van proved ideal for the logistics challenges ahead.
Over 1.3 million Sprinter sales had been made by 2006 and the van had been through several facelifts.

The fully electric eSprinter was released in 2019, with an output of up to 85 kW and a torque of up to 295 newton metres.
The Sprinter is sold in over 130 countries and is produced at the Mercedes-Benz Düsseldorf and Ludwigsfelde plants and in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The US plant in Charleston was also extended to become a fully-fledged location for the current model.
Mercedes-Benz says it will be highlighting a number of achievements of the Sprinter throughout the year as part of its 25th anniversary.
