T-Tech 2020 Conference in Wellington next May

ITS NZ hosts next year’s T-Tech Conference at Te Papa in Wellington.

New Zealand’s future transport conference, T-Tech, is the annual two-day conference for government, industry and academia to discuss solutions for today’s transport and urban planning problems.

Intelligent Transport Systems New Zealand (ITS NZ) expanded its annual summit in 2018 to include emerging solutions and modes and disruptive business models, such as mobility as a service (MaaS), ride-sharing and new urban planning solutions to complement the network efficiency, safety and optimisation solutions associated with ITS.

The programme will feature invited influential international and local thought-leaders, experts, innovators and government speakers discussing policy and agency priorities.

We expect T-Tech 2020 will attract more than 200 delegates and speakers from throughout New Zealand, with a growing international attendance.

ITS NZ will shortly call for abstracts and presentation concepts from local government and industry for consideration by the T-Tech programme committee.

Being selected to present on a paper or make a presentation has rewards.

Those selected and judged by an expert panel and attendees as either the best paper or presentation are up to win $5000 worth of travel towards an international transport conference of their choice.

The prizes are part of ITS NZ’s commitment to furthering innovation, research and skills development in New Zealand.

Mike Rudge appointed to replace David Vinsen as ITS NZ chair Independent Transport Consultant Mike Rudge has been appointed to replace outgoing ITS NZ chair David Vinsen, who stepped down from the role in October after two years.

Vinsen oversaw significant progress at ITS NZ, including membership growth, an expanded annual conference (T-Tech), a transparent strategy and bi-annual business plan and membership growth.

Rudge has ITS NZ treasurer for the past two years.

He has just established Rudge Consulting after more than 25 years with Stantec NZ (and its predecessors).
Rudge has been a board member of ITS NZ since 2017.

Stephen Hewett is ITS NZ president and takes on the international responsibilities contributing to ITS Asia-Pacific Board, ITS World Congress and ITS Asia-Pacific forum activities, taking over from Mohammed Hikmet.

ITS NZ is seeking expressions of interest for newly created board roles, one for representing and developing stronger relations with New Zealand’s tertiary sector, a vital source of research and skills development for the industry.

The second role is for a Youth Board member.
