Tesla outsells BMW in Q1 2020 electrics

Tesla has sold 88,400 EVs compared to BMW’s 30,700 electrified models in the first quarter of this year.

That’s according to CleanTechnica Which says Tesla provides pure electrics while BMW has produced a large assortment of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), mostly for the European market — and also sells the fully electric BMW i3 subcompact crossover.

says the Model 3 has boosted Tesla’s performance and suggests the gap with BMW and other car makers will widen further.

Tesla is rolling out the Model Y, expected to sell even better than the Model 3, Model S, and Model X combined, the US cleantech news and commentary site says.

“Then, around the corner, we also have the highly anticipated Tesla Cybertruck. I don’t think there’s any looking back for Tesla.”
