Tesla realigns NZ prices following global production growth
Tesla has realigned prices on some of its cars in New Zealand following a year-on-year production growth of 47% to 1.37 million vehicles and 40% year-on-year growth in deliveries to 1.31 million vehicles.
Pricing for the Model 3 in New Zealand starts at $70,900, where it was previously $74,600, the Model Y is about $1000 cheaper than before and the Model Y Performance is about $3000 cheaper than before.
In the fourth quarter, Tesla says it produced more than 439,000 vehicles and delivered more than 405,000 vehicles.
Tesla says it achieved a great 2022 in spite of significant COVID and supply chain related challenges throughout the year. It thanked all of its customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters.
The company said it continued to transition towards a more even regional mix of vehicle builds which again led to a further increase in cars in transit at the end of the quarter.
Tesla says it produced 71,177 units of the Model S/X in 2022 and delivered 66,705 units. It also produced 1,298,434 units of Model 3/Y and delivered 1,247,146 units.
Therefore the company has an inventory of 4472 Model S/X and 51,288 Model 3/Y in reserve from the 2022 calendar year.
