Tesla ups Model 3 and Y NZ prices
After dropping prices for its NZ Model 3 and Model Y in January, February and April, Tesla has now increased prices on its two key sellers.
The entry level Model 3 and Model 3 Performance are now priced from $66,400 and $96,400, respectively, with the base Model Y and Model Y Performance now priced from $71,900 and $101,400.
The two Model 3 variants were priced at $65,900 and $95,900 and the Model Y’s two variants were $70,900 and $100,900 before the change.
The price changes have been confirmed on Tesla’s website – the same week the Government announced it will reduce the Clean Car Discount (CCD) rebate for new EVs from $8625 to $7015 from July 1.
The rebate change, along with Tesla’s price rises, will see the entry level Model 3 and the Model Y now cost about $2000 more.
In late April Tesla announced price rises in China, Canada, Japan, and the US – although reasons for the rise are unclear.
Meanwhile, Tesla is likely to see a vote on child labour transparency at its AGM on May 16.
