Tesla Wellington showroom planned?

A Wellington site will become Tesla’s permanent home for a service centre in the capital and could include a nearby showroom as well.

Tesla owners tell EVs and Beyond that while a site has been found the location has yet to be revealed, although it’s likely to be near key motorways for ease of access.

Auckland has the only Tesla showroom in the country, at Karangahape Road, although both Wellington and Christchurch provide service and roadside assistance, with Wellington’s Tesla service mobile until the service centre’s permanent home is established.

EVs and Beyond has approached Tesla for comment but the organisation doesn’t have a dedicated public relations department.

Tesla owners say the planned new Wellington service centre will have a customer lounge and two sales staff, also catering for test drives.

Meanwhile, a Tesla Supercharger site is also likely in Dunedin.
