Tesla’s 95,200 vehicle deliveries a record

Tesla says it has achieved an 87,048 vehicle record production and also record deliveries of about 95,200 EVs globally in releasing its second quarter figures for 2019.

The deliveries beat its previous record of 90,700 and sent Tesla stock prices soaring.

It produced 72,531 Model 3s, delivering 77,550 of them, and produced 14,517 Model S and X vehicles, delivering 17,650 of those.

The right-hand drive Model 3 is due in Australia and New Zealand soon.

The latest figures are about a 51% growth on the first quarter of this year.

“In addition, we made significant progress streamlining our global logistics and delivery operations at higher volumes, enabling cost efficiencies and improvements to our working capital position,” Tesla says.

“Orders generated during the quarter exceeded our deliveries, thus we are entering Q3 with an increase in our order backlog. We believe we are well positioned to continue growing total production and deliveries in Q3.”

Customer vehicles in transit at the end of the quarter were over 7400.
