The Lego-like eBussy has multiple uses

Two chassis variants and a modular concept mean the electric eBussy can be adapted on the ‘Lego principle’ to suit the owner’s requirements.

That means it can be a ute, camper, minivan, flatbed EV and more according to the purpose.

Germany-based maker Electric Brands

says the possibilities are infinite with “countless” modules available independent of the chassis.

“You don’t need any special tools, you don’t have to have worked at NASA, just need some help sometimes to remove a module and put another one back on,” the company says.

A 10-year manufacturer’s warranty is provided.

The basic eBussy is expected to cost about 15,800 euros and be on European roads next year, Engadget

reports, adding it has 10 different body styles with urban and off-road chassis variants.

The steering wheel can slide across the dashboard for left, right or centre driving, the eBussy using a “drive-by-wire” system which provides electronic rather than mechanical connection to the front wheels, it says.

The eBussy has a 10kWh battery giving up to nearly 200km range, or a 30kWh one can been installed for 600km range.

Roof solar panels and regenerative braking extend the range, while Electric Brands plans a charging network where depleted batteries can be exchanged for fresh ones, Engadget says.

It’s unknown whether the eBussy will be available outside of Europe and, if so, when.
