VIA working on safe industry practices for level three and later

VIA is leading a group of industry representatives and relevant government officials to develop safe practices for the automotive world post COVID-19 level four restrictions.

These include the Ministry of Transport for transportation and logistics, the NZ Transport Agency for compliance and safety inspections and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for safe practices to enable retail sales post level four.

VIA says it is also developing “Safe Practice Protocols” to avoid cross contamination and for social and workplace distancing, plus contact tracing.

It suggests those in the industry will need to develop their own ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ (SOPs) from these protocols.

VIA will finalise these protocols, get in principle agreement from the relevant government departments and agencies, publish them on www.via.org.nz when finalised and send an alert with links to the documents.
