Video: California inspired electric SUV from Fisker
Henry Fisker’s start-up EV company Fisker Automotive didn’t last long – but he’s back with just ‘Fisker’ and its electric Ocean SUV expected out in 2022.
The California inspired Ocean SUV is likely to compete with the Tesla Model Y, Jaguar I-Pace, Volvo XC40 Recharge and Polestar 2 – and others, Stuff reports.
A “vegan” interior features recycled materials and an optional rooftop solar panel is said to boost range, while “California Mode” lowers all windows and a rear hatch allows a surfboard to be carried.
The Fisker Ocean SUV has a US$37,499 base price, or US$379 for a monthly lease, Stuff
adds.
It’s reported to have a 400k-480km range with variations such as a high-performance off-road version expected to be available.

Fisker is apparently negotiating a deal with Volkswagen to use its MEB EV platform and use an existing auto manufacturer’s plant.
The Ocean will use lithium ion batteries with the help of a Fisker-developed battery management software system.
