Unmanned EVs and robots are delivering goods, disinfecting and cleaning streets and more during the COVID-19 pandemic – avoiding the need for humans to do such jobs.
RoboSense has cooperated with Neolix, Alibaba’s Cainiao Robotics, Unity Drive Innovation, Zhen Robotics and others to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, the devices particularly useful in China.
The robots use RoboSense’s Lidar for perception ability that outperforms human eyes. The embedded artificial intelligence (AI) perception algorithm outputs real-time semantic-level structural environmental information which makes them even faster and easier in completing tasks than for humans.

RoboSense is also a winner in the 2020 Edison Awards Transportation and Logistics category.
The awards recognise excellence in innovation and honour the most innovative products and business leaders globally.
Named after inventor Thomas Alva Edison the awards are dubbed “The Oscars of Innovation”.
“We are very proud that our smart Lidar sensor has been recognised by 2020 Edison Awards. It stands for the global industry experts’ recognition of RoboSense product design, development, and production processes and also indicates that RoboSense has achieved a new milestone of complete readiness for mass production of automotive Lidars,” RoboSense co-partner and vice president Dr Leilei Shinohara says.
“We will continuously improve the product performance for the safety and mass production development of autonomous vehicles.”
