Is a big EV needed for the daily commute?

Toyota doesn’t think so and is pushing the Government to let it roll out a fleet of mini EVs on NZ roads.

We take the Toyota C+pod two-seater for a spin and find it meets all the criteria for a good city car or for places like Waiheke Island.

It is cheap, has about 160km range, takes up minimal space (good for parking), reaches 60km/h (adequate for city driving) and has ample storage for most needs.
