VW ID.7 production version revealed in China
Volkswagen’s electric ID.7 has been revealed in China and will make its public debut at the 2023 Auto Shanghai show on April 18, the event also featuring the Polestar 4.
The ID. 7 will have a 150kW single motor, 700km range, a 77kWh battery, and will be assembled by FAW-Volkswagen joint venture’s plant in Guangdong, CarNewsChina reports.
The electric sedan is based on VW’s EV-dedicated MEB platform.
CarNewsChina says it saw “Vizzion” written on the EV’s rear, leading it to speculate the name might be the “ID.7 Vizzion”.
The publication offers other details and speculation as well, adding that China is Volkswagen’s most important market, “with SAIC-Volkswagen achieving the milestone of being the first automaker to sell 22 million cars in China”.
It suggests the ID.7 will start deliveries in the second half of 2023.
