Welcome to the May 2021 EVs and Beyond magazine
All the talk this month is around whether the Government will move on EVs.
Strong signals have already come with some pre-Budget 2021 announcements about providing $67.4 million over four years to support the transition to a carbon neutral public sector by 2025.
It includes $41.8m for leasing low emissions vehicles across the public sector.
A further $13.1m has been committed for 422 EVs and associated charging infrastructure across state sector fleets, expected to lead to more supply for the secondhand EV market in later years.
You can read in this issue which state agencies get a share.
But the Government is still some way off making decisions relating to the Climate Change Commission’s advice and whether any EV incentives will apply.
That’s prompted heated reaction from some at the recent eworld conference and expo – also covered in this issue – and from EV dealers who want certainty.
