New Zealand racing driver Nick Cassidy starts his Formula E racing in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, with the Envision Virgin Racing team on February 26 and 27.

Cassidy, the holder of the ‘triple crown of Japanese motorsport’, will be racing in a big field during the ABB FIA Formula E double header, including fellow Kiwi Mitch Evans in the Panasonic Jaguar Racing team which includes last year’s winner Sam Bird.

No less than 24 drivers in 12 teams are expected to line up for the seventh world championship season opener.

Cassidy, 26, will be joined by fellow Envision Virgin Racing driver Robin Frijns for the season.

Round three of the new season is in Rome on April 10.

Formula E says it will continue to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
