Arson considered in Tesla factory site fire

Electric cables supplying Tesla Gigafactory Berlin were set alight in what police say appears to be an attack but which didn’t affect the construction site.

Police haven’t ruled out arson as flammable liquid seems to have been used and the cables were apparently tied to a fence, Electrek reports.

While police are still tracking possible suspects, Electrek reports an alleged confession letter on social media has come from a group called “Vulkangruppe” which suggests it is targeting Tesla.

Giga Berlin is expected to start production later this year with Tesla aiming to produce up to 500,000 Model Y EVs there annually and also to establish a battery cell plant.
