Since the announcement of the Clean Car Discount rebate on June 13, Renault New Zealand says visits to its website have jumped more than 172%.

Renault New Zealand spokesperson Kimberley Waters says the dealer network has welcomed the programme as it provides them with an opportunity to help buyers into an electric vehicle that suits their needs, be that a Zoe EV  hatch or a Kangoo EV van.

“The announcement also coincided with the imminent arrival of the new Zoe electric hatchback, so we have had a large amount of enquiry for it and sold out our first two shipments,” Waters says.

The first shipment of the new Zoe EV hatch will arrive at the end of July for customers eagerly awaiting their new cars.

“We’re working hard with factory to get Zoe’s built for our market, as it is the best-selling EV in Europe at the moment, so worldwide demand for this car is hot,” she says.

Bastille Day sale exceeds expectations

Renault says its one-day sale for the national dealership network on Bastille Day (July 14) brought in results that exceeded expectations.

Waters says the advertising generated more inquiry than usual and the dealership network noted a significant lift in walk-in traffic.

We’ve welcomed many more dealerships into the Renault dealer network over the last 9-12 months and this was the first sales event we’ve run, so it was really well received. Any opportunity to drive awareness for the Renault brand within the local regions and generate sales for the network is a positive,” Waters says.

“The sales event created an opportunity for us to drive traffic into our showrooms.  Customers from all areas of life grabbed a deal on the full range of Renault vehicles, which subsequently resulted in a sales result that exceed our expectations,” Waters says.

“We were thrilled with how the day performed for the entire Renault network. The sale was a great opportunity for existing customers considering upgrading and also those who have thought about Renault but hadn’t yet been to check one out, to pop into a dealership,” she says.
