MG4 spotted down under as safety credentials confirmed
The all-electric MG4 has been spotted down under – while at the same time leading the latest round of safety results released by the Euro NCAP testing system.

As part of the rigorous testing process – which tests for child and adult occupant safety, vulnerable road user protection and vehicle safety assist functions – Euro NCAP awarded five stars to all current MG4 specification.
The MG4 is the first all-electric platform from the manufacturer to be sold in New Zealand. While the ENCAP result doesn’t entirely translate to a local ANCAP result, it is a strong indicator of things to come.

All MG4s are equipped with the MG Pilot driver assistance and safety system.. Driver aids including Active Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Attention Alert are included as standard across the range. Intelligent High Beam Assist and Speed Limit Assist.
The Euro NCAP score also marks the first test result involving MG’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) – new, adaptable vehicle architecture designed to underpin the next generation of MG cars.
How close to arrival here is the car? An MG New Zealand spokesperson confirmed the MG4 would be available for sale locally ‘sometime in the second half of 2023,’ but declined to provide any further details.
The car appears to be getting close though, with a heavily disguised, but seemingly close to production, model spotted testing in Sydney recently.
