BYD NZ confirms series of OTA updates
BYD New Zealand has confirmed details of a series of ‘Over The Air’ updates coming to the vehicle, aimed at tweaking the vehicles systems, providing new features and correcting an issue some customers have faced with their 12 volt batteries.
The four updates are being issued over coming days to all vehicles that have had an updated SIM card fitted. Customers that don’t have a new card yet are encouraged to contact their dealer to get one.
The company recommends owners you complete updates at a time that suits. It is best practice to complete the update when you don’t need to use the vehicle for a few hours – they suggest most people would do these updates in the evening, at home).
The vehicle should not have the charger connected to the vehicle while undergoing the update. Once the update is completed, they recommend charging your vehicle back to 100% on an AC charger.
Vehicles cannot be driven while the update is in progress.
