Californian EVangelist back touring New Zealand
Chelsea Sexton, the EV advocate from the Who Killed the Electric Car?
documentary, was in Penrose at GVI Electric last night for a meet and greet evening with EV enthusiasts.
She spoke about where she thinks EVs are heading around the world, including the various mandates that encourage OEMs to build electric cars.
Sexton then fielded questions, with plenty of discussion around whether there would be enough electricity generation to cover EV charging, how China will affect EV uptake, and a bit of geek speak on charging infrastructure.
The evening was near the end of Sexton’s two-and-a-half week New Zealand visit, her fourth trip here.
An interview with Sexton features in the next EVTalk and AutoTalk magazines, which includes her take on how EVs affect us in our continuing series on disruptions to the automotive industry.
