Kiwi driver Nick Cassidy took his fourth podium of the season for Jaguar TCS Racing in Misano, Italy.

He finished third with fellow Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans retiring due to a technical issue with his Jaguar I-Type 6 car on the last lap.

Jaguar TCS Racing continues to lead the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Teams after the second race of the double-header weekend in Misano, Italy, with 128 points, 16 points ahead of second-placed Andretti FE (112) and 18 ahead of TAG Heuer Porsche (109).

Cassidy moves up to fourth in the Drivers’ World Championship standings with Evans seventh.

Round eight is in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Saturday April 27, where Evans hopes to do better, saying it’s a home race for him.

In the final two laps at Misano, Cassidy used his energy advantage to push forward and overtake Maximilian Günther (Maserati MSG Racing) and in a dash to the line pipped ABT Cupra FE driver Nico Müller by 0.05 seconds to take the final podium position.

Misano E-Prix race winner António Félix da Costa was disqualified from Round 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for a technical breach following an investigation by the FIA.

Shortly after the decision was made, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team declared its intention to appeal against the FIA’s decision and is evaluating further steps.

Pascal Wehrlein from the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team celebrated his second Formula E victory, after Mexico, on Sunday April 14, putting the German back at the top of the World Championship standings after finishing Saturday’s race without points and dropping down the rankings.

Wehrlein is tied on points with Jake Dennis, who has notched up one victory so far this season for Andretti Formula E’s customer-run Porsche with Dennis in second place.

“It has been tough three races for me, so I’m really pleased to be back on the podium,” says Cassidy, adding the Jaguar TCS Racing team’s focus is now on Monaco.
