Electric dirt bike event popular
More than 250 people of all ages attended the first New Zealand electric dirt bike event at Thundercross Valley Dirt Bike Park in the Waikato.
Thundercross also ran some training seasons throughout the day for 10 bikes at a time, says rider John Williams.
Pukekawa Primary School raised funds by doing the food, and one person won a Hyper Bee valued at more than $5000, he says.

Williams says two days of rain left tracks slippery at the start but they soon dried out.
The event was sponsored by New Zealand’s official Surron electric dirt bikes importer, with some officials from the Chinese manufacturer attending.
