Nick Cassidy secured his first podium for Jaguar TCS Racing with a third and the fastest lap in his debut race for the British team while fellow Kiwi Mitch Evans was fifth in his Jaguar I-Type 6.

Jaguar TCS Racing left Mexico City second (on 26 points – two points behind leader Tag Heuer Porsche with winner Pascal Wehrlein – in the Teams’ World Championship) ready for rounds two and three of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at Diriyah in Saudi Arabia on January 26 and 27.

In Mexico City qualifying, both Jaguar TCS Racing drivers got to the semi-final of the “Duels”, with Evans securing the fastest lap of the weekend with a 1:13.103. After a one-place grid penalty for both drivers due to a procedural infringement in Free Practice 1, Cassidy lined up fourth on the grid, with Evans in fifth.

A safety car deployed in the 10th lap meant an additional two laps were added.

Three out of four Jaguar-powered cars finished in the top five with Envision Racing’s Sebastien Buemi second in one and Maximilian Guenther fourth for Maserati MSG Racing.

“It’s been a really strong start to the 2024 season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship,” says Jaguar TCS Racing team principal James Barclay.

Congratulating Cassidy and the team for their first podium together, Evans says the race was physically very demanding and not an easy one to drive.

Cassidy says he is motivated to keep pushing.
