Leaf Nismo concept at Tokyo Motor Show

Concept cars and production vehicles revealing Nissan’s newest and future innovations will be displayed at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show from October 27 to November 5.

A highlight is expected to be the Nissan Leaf Nismo concept car, its flagship EV with intelligent mobility such as single-lane autonomous driving and self-parking, along with the e-Pedal allowing the driver to accelerate, slow, stop and hold the car using just the one accelerator pedal.

The concept has a sporty new look designed by Nismo, Nissan’s motorsports and in-house tuning division. It has a sport-tuned suspension and high-performance tyres, plus a custom-tuned computer providing instant acceleration at all speeds.

Others among 13 Nissan vehicles on display will include the performance-oriented Serena Nismo and an updated Skyline.

The Serena is a minivan with sports style and a sport-tuned suspension system. It includes a new engine control module and exhaust system, and is due for sale in Japan in November.

The Skyline premium sports sedan features the latest technology. All Skyline models now come with Nissan’s all-round safety shield technology, which can be combined with a hybrid system and direct adaptive steering for easier handling.

Along with a revamped exterior and new aluminium wheel designs, the Skyline has changes in the cabin too and goes on sale in Japan in December.

The Nissan booth includes a simulator letting visitors experience the future of Nissan intelligent mobility.

Nissan will livestream its news conference at the Tokyo Motor Show via services including YouTube, Facebook and Periscope, while its global Twitter and Facebook accounts will also feature updates.
