Polestar’s global annual sales dipped 15% in 2024
Polestar retail sales totalled 12,256 cars globally in the fourth quarter of 2024, up 5.3% from the same period in 2023.
This brought total retail sales for the entire year to 44,851 in 2024, down 15% from 2023.
Total order intake in the fourth quarter of 2024 increased by 37.2% compared to the same period in 2023 and by 37.9% for the full year 2024 compared to 2023, creating strong momentum as the brand enters 2025.
The Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 represented 56% of order intake in the fourth quarter of 2024.
“The changes being made to our commercial operations are having a positive impact, as we saw a 5.3% increase in retail sales and a 37.2% increase in order intake compared to the same quarter last year,” Polestar chief executive Michael Lohscheller says.
To align more closely with sector convention, Polestar has amended its definition of global volumes, with the new definition being retail sales representing sales to end customers.
Polestar will publish key financial KPIs and business and operational highlights for the third quarter on January 16, 2025. On the same date, management will host a live webcast to provide a business and strategy update.
