Tesla Cybertruck delivery event later this year
Tesla intends having a Tesla Cybertruck delivery event at the end of the third quarter, says chief executive Elon Musk during the release of first quarter financial results.
The Cybertruck will enter production soon at Austin, Texas, and deliveries are likely from September, Electrek reports, adding that Musk also said Cybertruck reservation holders should expect to get an update on specs and pricing at that delivery event.
Tesla first revealed the Cybertruck in 2019.
Meanwhile, Tesla’s Q1 2023 revenues and profits were close to expectations, with US$23.33 billion revenue reported.
Automotive revenue reached US$19.96 billion in the quarter, up 18% from last year.
Musk says economic uncertainty could hit people’s EV shopping plans though.
He expects “significant profit” will eventually come from Tesla autonomy.
Tesla Energy revenue rocketed 148% to US$1.5 billion.
Tesla’s Q1 2023 earnings call was livestreamed on Twitter where Musk is now chief executive after buying it.
The company reduced prices on its EVs at the end of 2022 and again this year.
It also plans to expand further and hopes to produce about two million EVs in 2023.
