Tesla’s electric truck will be launched on October 26 in Hawthorne, California.

The Tesla Semi unveiling has been announced by Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk in a tweet. Whether the truck will have any autonomous capabilities isn’t yet known.

It has been reported, though, that the truck would be semi-autonomous and able to operate in a convoy or “platoons”.

Meanwhile, there’s suggestions Tesla might consider an electric pickup truck or ute, possibly as a “mini Tesla Semi”.

He’s reportedly talked about a ute for some time.

The latest buzz comes from Musk’s response to a tweet asking if a light duty pickup can be next.

“What if we just made a mini version of the Tesla Semi?” is his response.

Perhaps more will be known at the Tesla Semi unveiling.
