Tutukaka fast charger online
Tutukaka’s 25kW DC EV fast charger is in business, the first of three such chargers to be delivered by EV Transport and Hubands Energy to help “plug the gaps” and service the rapidly growing EV market.
The charger between Oceans Hotel and Schnapper Rock Restaurant allows locals and visitors to charge while enjoying diving, fishing, surfing, restaurants, the many great beaches and hikes along the Tutukaka Coast.

“This project has been supported by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and ChargeNet and we expect the remaining fast chargers for Mangawhai and Whangarei waterfront should be installed in coming weeks,” Joe Camuso says.
In fact, the Mangawhai fast charger is now operating outside the retail area on Molesworth Drive near the Moir Street intersection.
Camuso established New Zealand’s first EV taxi service EV Transport in Whangarei in 2015 and was named EV Champion of the Year in 2019 at the EVworld NZ Auckland expo (now called ‘eworld’).
Hubands Energy is a Whangarei based solar and electrical contractor instrumental to the project with its innovative solutions.

I greatly appreciate your regular news on EV’s.
As we travel from Gisborne to other places during our retirement in our Nissan EV we love keeping in touch with news such as you send but also in any new EV Charge Stations that may begin to be placed and operate.
Thankyou
