Sshhh! EVs will be at Frankton Thunder
Just about every model of EV in New Zealand will be at the 5th annual Frankton Thunder automotive and community festival in Hamilton on March 14, 9.30am-4pm.
While the event is also known as “Thunder in the Tron” it is mainly for rods, vintage cars, muscle machines, classics, motorcycles, and military vehicles, it also has a sizeable EV presence – the EVs renowned for their quietness.
Hamilton Electric Vehicles sponsors EV Street at Frankton Thunder, and dealer principal Nicholas Down says it has massive community support.
“They love EVs and our presence is huge,” he says.
“We have just about every New Zealand EV model at the event.”
This year Down is very excited to have the support of Mercury and Evie the famous electric 1957 Ford Fairlane.
“What a perfect event – old nostalgia and modern EVs,” he says.
Frankton Thunder in the whole of Frankton Village has free admission and includes steam punk, bands, entertainment, food, a Miss Frankton pin-up contest, a tattoo competition (Thunder Ink), street vendors, and more.
Says Down: “It really is a whole family day out and something for everyone.”
