Honda e Women’s World Car of the Year Best EV

The Honda e is named Electric Vehicle of the Year in the Women’s World Car of the Year awards.

Best Car of the Year from among nine category winners will be announced on International Women’s Day, March 8.

Now in its 11^th year, WWCOTY involves about 50 motoring journalists from 38 countries with the decisions made by an all-women jury.

WWCOTY was created by Kiwi motoring journalist Sandy Myhre in 2009, currently serving as honorary president with Marta García executive president.

The organisation says the awards’ objective is to choose the best cars of the year – not ‘women’s cars’ because there is no such thing. Instead, cars are chosen based on the principles that guide all consumers including safety, quality, price, design, driving dynamics, and environmental impacts.

This year, voting was complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic which limited jurors’ driving, although they made extra effort to evaluate the vehicles in time for voting.
