Nissan Ariya due in Europe and US late 2021
The all-electric Nissan Ariya coupé crossover has made its first public appearance on the road in its debut drive around the Circuit de Monaco where a Formula E event was held recently in the French Riviera.
Nissan New Zealand is keen to see the Ariya here but has no further information at this stage.
“Ariya is the epitome of Nissan’s innovation in electric mobility and this event marks a defining moment in the next chapter of Nissan’s EV journey,” Nissan AMIEO product strategy and pricing region vice president Arnaud Charpentier says.
It features advanced connectivity, technology, a competitive range of battery capacities and the e-4ORCE drivetrain.
More than 100,000 people globally have registered interest in the Ariya.
The Ariya will come in two-wheel drive (63kWh battery) and all-wheel drive (87kWh battery) with nearly 400km to 500km range respectively with a 293kW Performance model (87kWh battery).
Pricing hasn’t yet been fully confirmed but it is expected in North America at about US$40,000.
It has all the bells and whistles including the Nissan ProPilot driver assistance system suite, ePedal, new voice command technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more.
The Ariya also lends its’ name to car No. 23 in the Nissan Formula E team for the 2020/2021 season, with car No. 22 named after the Leaf.
