The electric pickup truck was unveiled in November 2019 and reservations followed with US$100 refundable deposits, with more than 250,000 reservations in a week of the unveiling, Electrek reports.

The Cybertruck’s popularity has continued with reservations reaching more than 650,000 in June 2020 and now exceeding one million.

Cybertruck pricing starts at US$39,900 and reaches US$69,900 for the tri-motor option.

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has said the two top variations would likely be produced first, having about 483km-800km range.

He warns delays are possible as Tesla is still building Gigafactory Texas where the Cybertruck will be produced.

That could push first deliveries to 2022, when the Cybertruck will have more competition in the electric pickup truck segment like the Ford F-150 Lightning which received more than 44,000 reservations within 48 hours of its release, Electrek adds.
