Volta Trucks filing for bankruptcy
Volta Trucks, maker of the Volta Zero electric truck, has reportedly taken steps to file for bankruptcy proceedings.
The company alleges the decision is a consequence of its battery supplier Proterra filing for “Chapter 11 bankruptcy” protocols in August.
Volta Trucks says that has had a significant impact on its manufacturing plans, adding the uncertainty with its battery supplier is affecting Volta Trucks’ ability to raise sufficient capital in an already challenging capital-raising environment.
DB Schenker had ordered 1500 Volta Zero trucks and Volta Trucks had planned to enter the US market.
The company had other plans too.
Volta Trucks’ website lists joint administrators and directs all enquiries to an email address.
