Mazda prices CX-6e electric SUV at $58,990 for New Zealand
Mazda prices the CX-6e electric SUV at $58,990 for New Zealand, matching the 6e sedan, with a 78kWh battery, 468km WLTP range and arrival at the end of 2026.
Mazda has priced the CX-6e electric SUV at $58,990 plus on-road costs for New Zealand, with the car due in dealer showrooms at the end of 2026.
The price matches the 6e sedan that launched here this week, and the strategy matches too: a single, highly specified grade, badged Takami, rather than a multi-variant range.
The CX-6e Takami pairs a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with a 190kW, 290Nm rear-drive powertrain, for a WLTP combined range of 468km. DC charging from 10 to 80% takes 24 minutes on a 200kW charger.
Where the price lands
At $58,990, the CX-6e sits $3,000 below the petrol CX-5 Takami, priced in May at $61,990, the equivalent grade of the brand’s best-selling SUV. The wider new CX-5 range opens at $46,490.
Against electric rivals, the CX-6e undercuts the Tesla Model Y, which starts at $67,900 with a near-identical 466km WLTP range, by $8,910, and comes in $1,000 below the BYD Atto 3 Evo at $59,990.

The Takami specification includes digital side mirrors, the first fitted to a production Mazda. Compact exterior cameras feed live video to OLED displays mounted in the doors, which Mazda says deliver a 30% wider field of view, better vision in low light and bad weather, and an aerodynamic contribution to range. A digital rear-view mirror is also standard.
Mazda’s signature wing face carries sequenced illumination when locking, unlocking and charging, with aerodynamic vents through the grille, shark-fin mirror housings and air ducts in the floating D-pillars. Specifications confirmed in May are unchanged.

Inside, an illuminated wing-shaped strip runs the width of the dashboard beneath a full-length insulated glass sunroof. Maztex synthetic leather upholstery comes in full black or an Oyster White and black combination.
The Mazda dealer network is accepting registrations of interest ahead of the end-of-year arrival.
