More than 200 Fuso eCanters now in daily operation

Daimler Trucks has now delivered more than 200 units of its all-electric light-duty Fuso eCanter truck since small-series production began three years ago.
The truck has been delivered to customers in 11 countries in cities such as New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki and Lisbon.
The truck has even made its way to New Zealand with Fuso NZ receiving a demonstration model in 2019.
As of February 2021, there are more than 40 eCanters running in the United States, over 60 in Japan and more than 100 with customer operations in Europe.
The total distance travelled by the global eCanter fleet now exceeds a combined three million kilometres driven locally emission free.
The 7.5 tonne vehicle has a driving range of more than 100 kilometres with a single charge and is suited for locally zero-emission and quiet inner-city distribution.
Typical use cases of the vehicle include the short-radius delivery of packaged goods, e-commerce orders, post or even beverage and industrial gas transportation. Customers in Europe include logistical household names such as PostNL, Dachser, Deutsche Post DHL, Rhenus Group and DB Schenker.
Fuso says it has set a vision to accelerate electrification and locally zero emission transportation in the commercial vehicle industry.
In line with the sustainability strategy of Daimler Trucks, it aims to have all new vehicles in Europe, North America, and Japan “tank-to-wheel” CO2-neutral by 2039.
