Nio reveals ET7 autonomous model

China-based global EV company Nio has launched its first autonomous driving model, the ET7 sedan.

Revealed at Nio Day in Chengdu, ET7 deliveries are expected to start in Q1 2022.

The ET7 has options of a 70kWh battery pack (500km NEDC range), 100kWh battery (700km range) or the new 150kWh battery (1000km range).

The sedan is capable of producing 480kW power and 850Nm torque, accelerating to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds.

It features the latest Nio Autonomous Driving (NAD) technology.

NAD brings safer and more relaxing autonomous driving, gradually covering use cases such as expressway, urban driving, parking, and battery swap, the company says.

Its 19 safety and driver assistance features come standard on ET7 and NAD’s full functions can be subscribed with AD as a Service (ADaaS).

Pricing for the ET7 starts at NZ$96,345 or from NZ$81,310 with Battery as a Service (BaaS).

The EV includes high performance sensors in the body and has first use of Karuun renewable rattan on a production model

It is 5.098 metres long, 1.987m wide and 1.505m high with a 3.060m wheelbase.

The interior is an interpretation of the second living room concept – a refined and cozy mobile living space with frameless soft-closing door for easy access. Massage seats include heating and ventilation.

A second-generation smart cockpit has enhanced in-car mobile connectivity and communication. The new 12.8-inch AMOLED centre display has improved resolution and contrast and a NOMI in-car AI system.

The sound system has 23 speakers and 1000W total output standard on all trim levels.

The ET7 is designed to meet both China and Euro NCAP five-star safety standards, its body featuring ultra-high strength steel aluminium hybrid materials.

The flagship sedan has more than 100 standard comfort, safety and smart features.
