Velodyne Lidar launches digital learning series

New digital learning series Velodyne Lidar LIVE! starts January 28 at 1pm Pacific Standard Time (PST is about 21 hours behind New Zealand and 19 hours behind Australia).

Velodyne Lidar LIVE! looks at industry developments around the advancement of safer mobility and smarter autonomy and the 45-minute webinars feature conversations with industry experts shaping future mobility.

It begins with a conversation featuring Emesent chief executive Dr Stefan Hrabar on how to address autonomous exploration in challenging inaccessible environments such as caves, civil construction works, telecommunications infrastructure and disaster response environments.

Velodyne Lidar has just announced a multi-year sales agreement to provide Puck LITE sensors to Emesent, a world-leader in drone autonomy, lidar mapping and data analytics.

Emesent is using Velodyne’s lidar sensors to power its award-winning Hovermap mobile scanning system for mapping hazardous and GPS-denied environments.

Bluecity Technology chief executive Asad Lesani talks on February 26, 10am PST, about how smart city applications for traffic monitoring can improve road safety and mobility.

On April 23 at 10am PST, GoMentum Station autonomous vehicles strategy and operations director Atul Acharya covers how a testing facility for connected and automated vehicle technology owned and operated by AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah, plays a key role in testing and developing the next generation of transportation.

Then on May 21 at 10am PST, ThorDrive – a company developing autonomous cargo and baggage tractors, will explore how its solution can transform the landscape of airport operations.

Future episodes include speakers from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and a Science Technology Education and Math (STEM) organisation hearing from high school students interested in autonomy careers.
